Browncoats 5.0 Hockey Jersey Design

Looking back at the 4.0, I was pretty excited to use the “true” brown color from the Browncoats soldier uniforms, not to mention the black variant of the main logo. It worked, just not as well as versions 1.0 – 3.0, which 5.0 recaptures. I hope you like it.

Dragons 5.0 Hockey Jersey Design

The Dragons are back in black, which is mostly inspired by Dany’s attire this season. I’m also happy to get the dragons out of the confinement of the shield, they look better free, much like the logo from the show. Read the rest of this entry

NHL ’94 Hockey Jersey Design

NHL 94 jersey design by Dave Delisle

As you know I love NHL ’94, so making a design for the game was something I always wanted to do. I just didn’t until now because many others have already done such a design, so I wanted to do a unique take. Originally I was going to make this design based on the box art (black stripes and lettering on a white jersey), but it looked too boring.

I posted this on Twitter and Facebook yesterday (if you follow me on either, thanks), but with official NHL, NHLPA, and EA Sports logos included. To make this safe for Geeky Jerseys to potentially make, I made my own versions of these logos. And yes, head bleeds were in ’93 only so I made an exception for fun.

Battletoads Hockey Jersey Design

Battletoads was not a video game, it was an elaborate scheme that incited gamers to destroy their controllers so they’d have to buy new ones. Nintendo and Sega gave the makers of Battletoads a kickback for controller sales, of course. I can’t prove this, but it’s the only plausible explanation.

The Tradewest logo is a placeholder until I can think of something better. It does look rather sporty though, it’s starting to grow on me.

Browncoats Baseball Jersey Design

The design should be pretty self-explanatory, so how about a rant? I don’t have overdraft protection on my chequing account, so it’s impossible for me to dip below a $0.00 balance on my own. But if the account is very low on funds, and the bank takes their monthly fee and puts the account into a negative balance (-$10.00), they’ll charge me an overdraft penalty of $30, even though they technically did the overdrafting. Seems unethical and predatory to me.

If the account is in a negative balance because of what the bank did, then that should be the end of it. The customer will pay the negative balance eventually, if only to resume banking, so the bank will be made whole for the monthly fee sooner or later. But an overdraft penalty? It just strikes me as penalty for being poor. Am I being silly about this? Let me know in the comments.

NES Zapper Hockey Jersey Design

NES Zappers hockey jersey design by Dave Delisle

4 or 5 years ago I attempted a NES design, but I couldn’t figure out the main logo (that post was deleted). I finally finished the design by incorporating a gun-toting ROB; when in doubt get the weapons out, I always say. Originally the back patch was a duck from Duck Hunt, but that was too weird so Repair Mario was enlisted.
