Galaxy Explorer Hockey Jersey Design

Galaxy Explorer hockey jersey by Dave Delisle

Here is an update of an existing design, this time with a more accurate blue, new space mission patch, and new tag on the back. Response to this design has been great so far, so look for it to be available for sign-up soon (check my Facebook or Twitter page for updates), and if that goes well an offer could happen.

  1. Looks great, although the “Galaxy Explorer” patch on the back looks out of place and kind of detracts from the design as a whole (can it be optional?). I’ll definitely order one of these!

    • The only options are names and numbers for now.

      • Well, the jersey looks fantastic, and I’m *really* excited about it (huge fan of Lego, especially classic space)! The “Galaxy Explorer” patch by itself is incredibly well done (I could easily see it as a logo for some sort of unofficial Classic Space merchandise line… which should totally be a thing), but to me, having the big red box with Lego-esque lettering right in the center seems to shout “I’m a jersey based on toys” while the rest of the jersey with the classic space logo and the lovely arm patch you designed is clean, minimalist, and not overtly Lego-themed (if that makes sense). Anyway, just an opinion—I think it all looks great regardless. 🙂

  2. Looks great. Can’t wait to buy one. I’d love to see a lace-up collar here. Or gold stripes in the jersey (so it looks less like the NY Rangers template). Keep up the awesome work!

  3. It’s definitely fantastic. I do see Charles’ point about the box. However, Reebok keeps their logo there on jerseys, though more subtle in all-white font.

Perhaps, Dave, that is something to consider if you’re open to our feedback. I/we know the red box is signature LEGO look, but perhaps taking it out to just have the small word font to seem like a jersey manufacturer logo. It might just be the color and/or size that makes it stand out so much, whereas the Superbit I have the D-pad looks great there. Another option, if they can print it that small, is having it in the inside collar like you had the Rebel Alliance logo on the Rogue Squadron jersey.

Either way, it’s a stellar jersey, but perhaps that Galaxy Explorer patch is so large it feels like a european league jersey with an advertisement.

    • Oh wow, didn’t realize you already had it available. Perhaps that’s a v2.0 modification in the future, then

      • The main reason I stuck to the box logo is that so many people wanted the design with the Lego patch. So this is basically a compromise for what many others wanted. I agree with you and Charles, something more in line with the other patches (or something more horizontal) would be ideal, I just didn’t want to rock the boat.
