Zelda 2.0 Hockey Jersey Design
The first Zelda design proved to be popular, and I am asked frequently about a followup. While I have numerous concepts on the drawing table, I thought I’d share this one, which is pretty faithful to the character design.
The belt, short-sleeve shirt, light-colored undershirt, and gloves are all represented. The shield crest got some rivets and a few other tweaks.
To go a step further, I added a cross stitch pattern here and there. The ones under the armpits are a tribute to the “victory gussets”, which the Tampa Bay Lightning used to sport. The idea was the patches were visible when the players celebrated a goal (they usually raise their arms).
In all honesty, I just don’t like working with brown! Not a very appealing color. Which is why I went with gold for the first design. I tried to embrace brown as best I could here.
