Zelda Hockey Jersey Design 3.0: Dark Link
The third Zelda/Link design is based on Dark Link, the evil version of Link who has appeared in several games (and was paid homage to in that Scott Pilgrim movie). Might make this one available if there is enough interest.

Zelda 2.0 Jerseys Are Done!
The Zelda 2.0‘s are done! And they look amazing. The picture doesn’t do it justice, as there are some details in there that can only be appreciated in person (like all the faux cross-stitching). These are shipping out next week, along with the Tardis 3.0‘s and the also completed Robotech jerseys.
Look for a third Zelda jersey design sometime in February. Though it’s best to check back often, sometimes Rinkgear will have a flash 5-day offer.
Geeky Jerseys Site Now Live
Rinkgear has launched a new site: GeekyJerseys.com, which will be the new home for buying geeky hockey jerseys! Click the link (or the picture, which features a Link) to head there now.
They’re starting things off with a bang: the Zelda 2.0 and SNES-inspired designs are now available until October 31st. In addition a few other designs from other artists are available, like a Freddy Kreuger-inspired design, and a design based on the American $100 bill.
This will be the site for all geek jersey sales going forward. The Robotech design will be the last one available on the Rinkgear site (a few weeks left for that one).
A few more designs will be added real soon in what will be a busy holiday season for Rinkgear. Stay tuned for announcements!
Zelda 2.0 Hockey Jersey Design
Edit: If there is enough interest I will make it available. Please share on Facebook or Twitter, or leave a comment. All the same as swearing an oath for the Kingsguard.
The first Zelda design proved to be popular, and I am asked frequently about a followup. While I have numerous concepts on the drawing table, I thought I’d share this one, which is pretty faithful to the character design.
The belt, short-sleeve shirt, light-colored undershirt, and gloves are all represented. The shield crest got some rivets and a few other tweaks.
To go a step further, I added a cross stitch pattern here and there. The ones under the armpits are a tribute to the “victory gussets”, which the Tampa Bay Lightning used to sport. The idea was the patches were visible when the players celebrated a goal (they usually raise their arms).
In all honesty, I just don’t like working with brown! Not a very appealing color. Which is why I went with gold for the first design. I tried to embrace the color as best I could here.
