Cameron Frye’s Detroit Red Wings Jersey From Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

This was commissioned by Mark C. for his DIY project: a replica of the Detroit Red Wings jersey seen in the film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. It was a fun and quick design project, and I’m allowed to share it here with you.
After the jump a lot of boring analysis of the Red Wings jersey seen in the film. Read the rest of this entry
Skyrim Hockey Jersey Design: The Dragonborn
Both Skyrim and Fallout are often requested by fans of the acclaimed Bethesda games, so I am happy to deliver a Skyrim jersey design today (Fallout will be done sometime down the road). As part of my ongoing attempts to corrupt every NHL team, the Chicago Blackhawks are given a geeky makeover today.
However the Blackhawks weren’t my first choice, I wanted to use the Ottawa Senators because of the forward-facing Centurion in their logo, but I used that for a Marvin the Martian design recently. That said the ‘Hawks double tomahawk shoulder patch figured in nicely here.
The Skyrim logo is too skinny/tall to be a primary logo, in case you’re wondering why I didn’t run with that. It was my original intention when I started on this design several months ago.
Also this would look a lot better if metallic embroidery was used. Would really make the helmet and axes pop.
Usually I don’t commit to RPG’s because of the time they require, but I made an exception for Fallout 3 a few years back. I was floored by the game, but it kept crashing despite it being the very first thing I installed on a new computer. As a result I quit the game and then skipped Fallout New Vegas and Skyrim, fearing the same experience. Admittedly I really feel like I am missing out on Skyrim. Maybe one day.
No plans to make this available.
Stargate SG-1 And Atlantis Hockey Jersey Designs

Stargate has been a frequently requested item, so I am thrilled to finally deliver this for you guys. I am a fan of the shows (I’ve yet to watch Universe), just haven’t gotten around to these before because I wasn’t really enamored with the logos or uniforms employed in the shows — please don’t hate!
That said I am glad Atlantis changed their uniforms in later seasons, because they started out with this bra/vest thing. Also the newer uniforms had stripes on the forearms, which are perfect for hockey jerseys.
For SG-1 I went with their ‘away mission’ green fatigues and black flak jacket look. Though it could easily be an all-black look, but that is not as appealing.
Now I’ll take this moment to say how much it sucks that there are no Stargate or Star Trek shows on TV. I take back all the times I said there was too much of both.
Gryffindor And Slytherin Hockey Jersey Designs

Not really a fan of hockey jerseys with the number prominently featured on the front of the jersey (like the current Dallas Stars jerseys, which are about to be retired), but for a Quidditch-themed hockey jersey I’ll make an exception.
Besides adding numbers to the sleeves, the only other major change was removing the hoodie pocket outline from the lower front of the jersey.

Rival house Slytherin gets a similar design. Seems all the Quidditch teams share a basic logo and jersey template, which is a shame because I hoped for more unique identities.
Here is an alternate look with the crests enlarged:

I believe any of these would look sharp on a hockey or lacrosse team. Heck, any geek in general really.
Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw will eventually get designs, stay tuned for those.
Star Trek Hockey Jersey Designs

I had a whole bunch of Star Trek hockey jersey designs on my other blog from a few years back, but a I did a housecleaning recently and those designs were deleted. So I cobbled together this new batch of designs for your viewing pleasure.
I’m sure even the most casual geek can identify all the uniforms and which era they belong to, and that’s because the Starfleet uniform is so iconic.
Perhaps too iconic, because I tried to enlarge the badges and make them into standard hockey jersey logos, but it looked really weird (take my word for it). The beauty of the badge design is in its simplicity; it telegraphs really well — even in its small default size.
If I had to choose one it would be the TNG movie design (top left), because it looks pretty sharp, almost military-like in my opinion. Also it would be very ideal for a hockey team, because the color accents (red, blue, and gold) could vary throughout the entire roster and it wouldn’t look distracting, due to the black and grey being the primary colors.
Thanks to Geeky Jerseys’s sublimation process, the detailed pattern of the J.J. Abrams era uniforms (top right) can be replicated (pun intended). However at this time there are no plans to offer any of these designs (sorry).
UPDATE: A bonus Wesley Crusher design:

SECOND UPDATE: Added a Voyager style for a die-hard Janeway fan. I didn’t make one initially because I thought it was too plain, apologies to Voyager fans! Enterprise fans maybe one day down the road!

Cthulhu, Clerks, And Dead Rising Hockey Jersey Designs

Cthulhu was frequently requested, unfortunately I am not really versed in Lovecraftian lore. So I did a mashup with something I do know, Batman. Besides the logo the jersey features an ornate pattern embedded in the black stripes. Can’t think of any secondary logos for this one yet.

Next up is a Clerks-themed hockey jersey, decked out with many familiar sponsors. My ongoing quest to geekify every NHL team continues! This time the Edmonton Oilers are enlisted, seeing as Kevin Smith wears their colors for his SMODCO jerseys.

Lastly a jersey based on the protagonist from the second Dead Rising game, Chuck Greene. His leather jacket features a sporty design and the number 4, making it ideal for a hockey jersey.
I’m going to ask Kevin Smith if he’ll permit a run of the Clerks design, so there’s a slim chance of it being offered. Cthulhu might be offered if there is enough interest. Dead Rising probably won’t be offered.
